Royal Copenhagen porcelain vase by Danish ceramic artist Ivan Weiss. Model no. 367 with Weiss’ characteristic asymmetrical organic form and flowing hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze decoration on glossy white porcelain.
The shape has a distinctly sculptural quality with soft folded contours and an almost brushstroke-like composition inspired by Japanese ceramic aesthetics — a major influence in Ivan Weiss’ work during the 1970s and 1980s. Unlike the more traditional floral Royal Copenhagen pieces, this design belongs to the modern artistic studio tradition within Scandinavian ceramics.
Marked underneath with the Royal Copenhagen Denmark hallmark and model number 367.
