This is the “Oceanblå” (ocean blue) cigar ashtray designed by Michael Bang for Kastrup & Holmegaard Glasværker in 1973, made using the centrifuge technique that gives it that thick, even wall and that deep blue-to-teal colour shift depending on the light.
This is the two-rest version from the series (there was also a one-rest and a three-rest size). Like the rest of this series it left the factory unsigned, so don’t expect to find a mark on the base, that’s completely normal for this piece.
It’s a substantial, weighty thing, the kind of piece that looks just as good doing nothing on a shelf as it does holding cigars. A proper bit of 1970s Danish glass design history.
