A ceramic candleholder or display bowl from Strehla Keramik, East Germany, 1960s–70s. Sits on a ribbed cylindrical base in a rough volcanic glaze, topped by a wide shallow bowl in a striking turquoise fat lava glaze with dark brown craters and swirls. The contrast between the sandy textured base and the bubbling turquoise interior is exactly what makes East German ceramics from this period so collectible.
Marked on the base with the Strehla Keramik triangle stamp and model number 6015. No chips or cracks.
